Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has strongly denied reports that alliance talks are being held with the BJP, AIADMK or other political leaders ahead of the Assembly elections.
In a statement, TVK Joint General Secretary C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar said reports linking the party with the BJP, AIADMK, Sasikala or Dr. S. Ramadoss for alliance discussions were completely false.
He said some media outlets and social media platforms were deliberately spreading misleading information for political gain. Nirmal Kumar clarified that no discussions had taken place with any political party or leader regarding an alliance.
He also pointed out that similar rumours had been spread earlier linking TVK with several parties, including the Congress, and said such claims were baseless. Alleging that the rumours were being spread to create confusion among the public and party workers, he urged responsible media organisations and social media users not to circulate unverified information. He added that the truth would ultimately prevail.
