KPR Mills empowers 618 women employees with degrees

The 12th convocation ceremony for women employees who pursued higher education while working was held at the Quantum Knits–3 arena in Tiruppur under the KPR Women Employees Education Centre of KPR Mills Limited.
K.P. Ramasamy, Chairman of KPR Mills Limited, inaugurated the function. C.R. Anandakrishnan, Managing Director, delivered the welcome address.
S. Srimathi, Judge of the Madras High Court, Madurai Bench, attended as the chief guest and distributed degrees to 618 women employees. In her address, she observed that countries like India are witnessing rapid development and stressed the need to expand manufacturing industries to generate employment. She said women should face life’s challenges with courage, honour the trust of their families and act with a sense of patriotism.


Motivational speaker Marabin Maindhan Muthiah and J. Sujithkumar, Vice President (Human Resources), Infosys, Chennai, delivered felicitation addresses.
A total of 618 women employees graduated at the convocation. Of these, 17 secured university degrees, including five with first class, four with second class and eight with third class. These 17 candidates had earlier received their degrees and medals at the 16th convocation of Tamil Nadu Open University held in Chennai on September 25, 2025.
Further, 74 women employees from various units of KPR Mills excelled academically during the 2021–2024 academic period. So far, 44,250 women employees have completed higher education through the education programme of KPR Mills Limited.
Around 1,500 women employees, office staff, graduating students, parents, teachers and HR representatives participated in the event. E.K. Sakthivel, Managing Director of KPR Mills Limited, proposed the vote of thanks.
