Youth arrested for falsely claiming UPSC success in Bihar

A youth was arrested in Bihar for allegedly falsely claiming to have cleared the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination and securing an All India Rank of 440.
The accused, Ranjit Kumar, a resident of Fatehpur village in Sheikhpura district, had informed villagers that he had qualified in the examination and become an IAS officer, triggering celebrations in the village.
As the claim spread on social media, former RJD MLA Vijay Samrat visited his residence along with supporters and congratulated him with flowers and gifts. Local police personnel also felicitated him at the Mahuli police station.

However, suspicion arose when some youths verified the UPSC results and found that the candidate who secured the 440th rank was a different individual from Chikkaballapur in Karnataka. Following the revelation, the accused reportedly went absconding. Police launched an inquiry to ascertain whether the act was deliberate or due to a misunderstanding.
Police later arrested Ranjit Kumar in connection with the case. Further investigation is under way.
