Youth held for stone pelting on Vande Bharat train

An 18-year-old youth was arrested for pelting stones at a Vande Bharat train near Nedumbassery in Kerala, allegedly due to distress over a failed relationship.
The incident occurred on March 7 around 7.10 p.m. when the Thiruvananthapuram–Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express was passing between Aluva and Angamaly near the airport. A loud noise was heard from the C-9 coach, and a window pane was found damaged, alarming passengers.
Following the incident, personnel from the Railway Protection Force in Aluva launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the area helped identify the suspect, who was later apprehended.
During interrogation, the youth reportedly told officials that he was upset after being ignored by his girlfriend and, in frustration, threw stones at the moving train multiple times. One of the stones struck the coach, causing damage.
He was arrested, produced before a court in Aluva and later sent to a juvenile home.
