Former Chennai Super Kings players Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden were conferred with the ‘Hall of Fame’ honour during the “Roar 26” reunion event held at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The event, organised by the CSK management ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026 season, witnessed the presence of a large number of fans. Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who attended as a special guest, praised the contributions of CSK players.
As part of the ceremony, the franchise introduced the ‘Hall of Fame’ honour to recognise the achievements of its distinguished former players. Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden became the first recipients of the award.
Chennai Super Kings, one of the most successful teams in the IPL, has won the title five times. Suresh Raina was part of the title-winning squads in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021 and represented the franchise from 2008 to 2021. He also played a key role in the team’s Champions League T20 victories in 2010 and 2014.
Matthew Hayden represented CSK from 2008 to 2010 and was part of the team’s 2010 title-winning campaign.
