Royal Care hospital leads walkathon on head injury awareness

Royal Care Super Specialty Hospital organised an awareness walkathon on Sunday to mark World Head Injury and Poly Trauma Awareness Month.
The rally commenced at 7 a.m. from Sakthi Sugars Corporate Office at Racecourse and concluded at Royal Care Hospital, City Unit, Dr. Nanjappa Road.
The event was inaugurated by B. Koshal Ram, President, Indian Medical Association, Coimbatore Branch, and D. Parameswaran, Honorary Secretary, Indian Medical Association, Coimbatore Branch, in the presence of K. Madeswaran, Chairman and Managing Director and Consultant Neuro and Spine Surgeon, Royal Care Hospital.
K. Madeswaran said that the increasing number of high-speed vehicles, lack of awareness, violation of traffic rules, non-use of helmets and seat belts, over-speeding, and poor vehicle maintenance are major causes of accidents leading to head injuries.
He added that the hospital is committed to organising such programmes to enhance public awareness.
More than 400 participants, including doctors, paramedical staff, administrative personnel, marketing General Manager Venkatesh, and members of the public, took part in the walkathon.
