Tiruvannamalai collector flags off awareness rally to ensure 100 % voting

In view of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly General Election 2026 scheduled for April 23, the Tiruvannamalai district administration has intensified efforts to ensure 100 percent voter turnout through a series of awareness programmes.
As part of the initiative, an election awareness rally for differently-abled persons was held at the District Collectorate premises.
The rally was flagged off by District Election Officer and District Collector K. Tharpagaraj.
More than 250 participants, including differently-abled persons, students from special schools, inmates of homes for the mentally challenged, members of non-governmental organisations, and representatives of charitable institutions, took part in the rally.
Participants carried banners with slogans such as “My vote is my right”, “Your vote is your future”, “Let us vote 100 percent”, and “Let us vote honestly”, spreading awareness among the public.
The programme also featured cultural performances by NGOs to promote voter awareness.
Amalarakini, a visually impaired student, delivered a musical performance highlighting the importance of voting.
Later, K. Tharpagaraj flagged off an election awareness campaign vehicle equipped with modern video facilities on behalf of the Department of Information and Public Relations and viewed short films on voter awareness screened in the vehicle.
District Revenue Officer I. Rampradeepan, Project Director Dhanapathy, Revenue Divisional Officer Selvam, District Differently-Abled Welfare Officer Malathi,
Soul Free Charity founder Prithi Seenuvasan, Public Relations Officer K. Saravanan, Assistant Public Relations Officer P. Ramprasad, and officials from various departments were present.
