Chennai College Student Killed As Car Overturns

A 19-year-old college student from Chennai died after a car carrying a group of students overturned near Thasur in Kavaripettai on the Chennai–Kolkata National Highway.
Police said a group of 10 college students, including eight women and two men, had set out from Arumbakkam in Chennai to Tada Falls in Andhra Pradesh on Friday morning. The car was driven by Rajamoorthy, 21.
The accident occurred when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle near Thasur, causing it to overturn on the road.
Divya Priya, who sustained severe injuries in the accident, died on the spot. Her body was later sent to the Ponneri Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The remaining nine students suffered minor injuries.
Kavaripettai police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
