The 2026 assembly elections will be held in a single phase across Tamil Nadu on April 23. As soon as the filing of nominations for the elections began, political party leaders have taken up the campaign. Like the scorching summer heat, the Tamil Nadu election arena has started to heat up.
In addition, Chief Minister MK Stalin has released the DMK’s election manifesto with 524 promises. Like last year, women have been given importance in this manifesto. It has been announced that the Kalaignar women’s rights amount will be increased to Rs. 2000.
More importantly, a scheme called ‘Illatharasi’ has been announced. It states that “housewives can use this coupon to purchase new household appliances for their homes or to replace old ones they already use.”
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has made a dramatic announcement that under this scheme, all housewives of families who do not pay income tax will be given a coupon worth Rs. 8,000 each to purchase household appliances from shops in their areas of residence. The debate on this is also being heatedly discussed among the people of Tamil Nadu, especially among women.
Every family has a unique need, and everyone has different needs. It can be anything from a washing machine, TV, grinder, fridge, mixer, microwave, and electric stoves.
It is no longer right to say, “We are giving you this.. you take it.” That is why the DMK has patiently and uniquely thought through this project and promised it in its election manifesto.
Furthermore, if the government purchases goods, complaints will occasionally arise about the quality of those goods. But when people themselves go to the store and choose their favorite brand, those complaints won’t arise, right?
It was a smart move for AIADMK to expand to ‘all’ when it was ‘fridge’. In particular, the increase in the women’s entitlement amount to Rs 2,000 and the addition of this Rs 8,000 coupon are ‘astras’ aimed at women’s votes. The entire eyes of Tamil Nadu are now on that ‘housewife’ coupon scheme.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has fulfilled most of the important promises made in the DMK election manifesto during the last election. It is customary for the opposition parties to express different opinions on this.
Rather than comparing the election manifestos of the major parties, what is more important is who will definitely fulfill the promises made. People have realized the truth. Any election manifesto that can speak the truth will have respect and influence!
DMK poll manifesto attracts women!
