Actor and IJP candidate Mansoor Ali Khan staged a symbolic protest by lying on the railway tracks at Kallakudi during his election campaign in the Lalgudi Assembly constituency.
Mansoor Ali Khan, who is contesting the upcoming Assembly elections, has been actively campaigning across the constituency.
During his visit to Kallakudi, he lay briefly on the railway tracks at a spot associated with the historic protest led by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
Speaking to reporters, Mansoor Ali Khan said Kallakudi holds historical importance and that he wished to recreate the moment to honour the legacy of Karunanidhi.
He added that he ensured the act was carried out safely after confirming that no train movement was scheduled at that time.
He also alleged that the people of the constituency had been neglected and said he was proud to contest from a historically significant region.
The act drew attention among locals and onlookers during the campaign.
