A 51-year-old supermarket employee from Malappuram district has won the Rs. 10 crore first prize in the Kerala Summer Bumper Lottery, bringing cheer to his family.
The winner, Padmanaban, hails from Parappanangadi and works at a supermarket in Kottakkal.
The winning ticket bearing number SB 517026 was drawn on March 28.
Officials said more than 40 lakh tickets were sold for the Summer Bumper Lottery, which carries one of the highest prize amounts in the State.
Speaking after the win, Padmanaban said he does not buy lottery tickets regularly and usually opts only for bumper draws. He expressed happiness over his unexpected fortune and said he was grateful for the turn of events.
The win has drawn attention in the locality, with residents congratulating him on the major prize.
