Security lapse alleged for Vijay

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has alleged inadequate security for its leader Vijay during his election campaign in Tamil Nadu and has raised the issue with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
In a letter, party Joint General Secretary C. T. Nirmalkumar stated that Vijay, who is provided ‘Y’ category security, was not given sufficient protection during recent campaign events. He specifically cited lapses during Vijay’s campaign in Perambur and Kolathur on March 30.
Earlier, party functionaries Bussy Anand and Aadhav Arjuna had also submitted a complaint to Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik at the Chennai Secretariat, raising concerns over security arrangements.
The party alleged that despite prior intimation, adequate police deployment was not ensured during campaign activities.
The issue has now been escalated to the Union Home Ministry, seeking appropriate intervention to ensure proper security coverage for Vijay during the ongoing election campaign.
