Four schoolgirls rescued at Coimbatore Railway Station while heading to meet YouTuber

City police rescued four Class VII students who attempted to travel to Chennai to meet a YouTuber, following a swift operation based on surveillance inputs.
According to police sources, the students, studying at a private school in Coimbatore, had recently acquired mobile phones from their parents and created social media accounts, including Instagram, where they connected with several users.
One of the students became an avid follower of a Chennai-based YouTuber, Monalisa, 22, regularly watching her videos and later establishing contact through Instagram.
The student also introduced the YouTuber to her classmates, who subsequently began interacting with her online.
Over time, the four students developed a desire to meet the YouTuber in person and informed her via Instagram about their plan to visit Chennai. It is reported that they received a positive response.
Acting on this, the students left their homes on Tuesday evening without informing their families, prompting anxious parents to search for them before lodging a complaint with the city police.
On the directions of City Police Commissioner N. Kannan, a special team was formed to trace the students. Using CCTV footage, police identified that the girls had reached the Coimbatore railway station.
The team rushed to the station and safely rescued the students before they could board a train. They were taken to the police station and later reunited with their parents.
Police have launched a detailed inquiry into the incident and stated that further action will be taken, including issuing a notice to the YouTuber concerned as part of the investigation.
