The Election Commission has ordered the transfer of Salem District Collector Brinda Devi and appointed Arun Thambaraj as the new District Collector of Salem.
Arun Thambaraj, an Indian Administrative Service officer, is currently serving as the Director of the Tamil Nadu National Health Mission. He is expected to assume charge shortly.
A medical graduate (MBBS), Arun Thambaraj secured All India Rank 6 in the 2012 Civil Services Examination, a notable achievement.
He has earlier served as District Collector in Cuddalore and Nagapattinam, where he earned recognition for his efficient administration and proactive governance.
Known for his field-oriented approach, he is widely regarded as an officer who directly interacts with the public, addresses grievances, and ensures swift action.
