Python rescued after entering farmhouse

A tense situation prevailed in Ikkarai Boluvampatti near Thondamuthur in Coimbatore district on Friday morning after a python entered a farmer’s house and caught a chicken. The family was shocked to find the snake holding the chicken in its grip and preparing to swallow it. They immediately alerted the Forest Department.
Acting swiftly, forest personnel rushed to the On-site and carried out a careful rescue operation. The python was captured safely without causing harm, and in a surprising turn, the chicken was rescued alive from its clutches. Residents expressed relief over the timely intervention, noting that incidents of wild animals entering residential areas in the outskirts of Coimbatore have become increasingly common, posing a threat to livelihoods.
Officials confirmed that the python was unharmed and was later released into a safe forest area.
The prompt action by the Forest Department helped avert potential danger and reassured people in the locality.
