Popular YouTuber Savukku Shankar has been arrested again by the Chennai Police in Andhra Pradesh after allegedly violating bail conditions and evading surrender.
Shankar was earlier arrested last year in connection with fraud cases and was later granted conditional bail on medical grounds in a case filed by his mother. As part of the bail conditions, he was directed not to give interviews related to the case and not to meet individuals connected to it.
Police alleged that he violated these conditions. Following the expiry of his interim bail, a court had directed him to surrender. However, Shankar reportedly went into hiding and continued to release videos online.
Acting on inputs, a Chennai Police team traced him to a hotel in Andhra Pradesh and arrested him. Officials said he had also defied court orders and openly challenged the police.
He is currently being brought to Chennai for further legal proceedings, police sources said.
