Actor Mansoor Ali Khan Withdraws From Lalgudi Contest, Backs DMK

Actor Mansoor Ali Khan, who had been contesting as an independent candidate from the Lalgudi Assembly constituency in Tiruchirappalli district, has announced his withdrawal from the election race.
In a statement issued on April 20, 2026, Mansoor Ali Khan said the nature of the election had changed and cited lack of financial resources as a key reason for his decision. He also stated that he was undergoing medical treatment due to health issues.
He alleged that the policies of the Central Government had created a challenging situation for Tamil Nadu and expressed his support for DMK leader M. K. Stalin, stating that he believed Stalin alone could safeguard the State’s interests.
Announcing his withdrawal from the Lalgudi constituency, Mansoor Ali Khan declared his support for the DMK across Tamil Nadu.
He also clarified that his decision to withdraw was not influenced by any monetary consideration.
