Actor-politician Vijay, leader of Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam, is expected to continue his spiritual tour with visits to Velankanni and Nagore Dargah following his recent pilgrimages to Tiruchendur and Shirdi.
The development comes after polling for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections concluded on April 23, with counting scheduled for May 4. Vijay’s party contested in 233 constituencies under the whistle symbol and extended support to an independent candidate in the Edappadi constituency.
Amid heightened political anticipation, most opinion and exit polls have indicated an advantage for the DMK alliance. However, select surveys, including those by India Today and Axis My India, projected a strong debut for Vijay’s party, estimating between 98 and 120 seats and hinting at a potential first-time government formation.
As the State awaits the election results, Vijay has undertaken a series of religious visits. On April 28, he offered prayers at the Subramania Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur. This was followed by a visit to the Shirdi Sai Baba temple in Maharashtra on April 29.
Sources indicate that Vijay is likely to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health at Velankanni on May 2 and is also expected to offer prayers at the Nagore Dargah as part of his ongoing spiritual journey.
