PSG allied Health Sciences marks Graduation Ceremony with centennial milestone

PSG Allied Health Sciences, a unit of the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, conducted its fourth graduation ceremony, coinciding with the centenary celebrations of PSG & Sons Charities.
A total of 80 B.Sc. Technology graduates, one M.Sc. Technology graduate and programme toppers received their certificates during the समारोह. Mithuna Devi secured the Dr. J.S.B. Gold Medal in Cardiac Technology, while Kamesraja won the Dr. N. Elango Gold Medal in Radiology and Imaging Technology.
In his presidential address, Dr. T. M. Subba Rao described the occasion as a “red letter day” and highlighted the institution’s growth since its expansion into allied health education in 1985. He noted that the institution currently offers 10 honours programmes and three master’s programmes.
The chief guest, Gomathi Sundar, lauded the development of allied healthcare education and emphasised the importance of regulatory frameworks such as the National Commission for Healthcare Professions.
The institution also announced plans to introduce 10 new programmes for the 2026–27 academic year, including Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine and Occupational Therapy. Thanushree S. from the Radiography and Imaging Technology programme was honoured as the Best Outgoing Graduate.
Programme Coordinator Dr. J. Kavitha paid tribute to past leaders and highlighted student achievements, including Muhammed Suhail, who received a national student award and secured a government scholarship to pursue higher studies at Imperial College London.
Earlier, Dr. T. Saravanan welcomed the gathering, while Dr. Suganya delivered the vote of thanks.
Managing Trustee L. Gopalakrishnan and Chairman G. R. Karthikeyan attended the event and extended their wishes to the graduating students.
