Heatwave dries up Kattery falls

The impact of an intense heatwave in the Nilgiris has led to the drying up of the scenic Kattery Falls, leaving tourists and residents concerned.
Temperatures in the hill district have risen sharply in recent days, causing hardship to local residents and farmers.
Paddy fields and grasslands have dried up, while water levels in dams across catchment areas have seen a significant decline.
Kattery Falls, usually a major attraction near Coonoor, is known for its cascading flow resembling molten silver.
However, due to the sharp drop in water levels at the Kattery Dam, the waterfall has now run dry, exposing bare rocks.
Tourists visiting the spot have expressed disappointment over the lack of water, as the once vibrant waterfall currently presents a barren sight amid the ongoing summer heat.
