Midnight secret inspection by Minister V. Sampathkumar at Coimbatore GH

Backward Classes Welfare Minister V. Sampathkumar conducted a surprise inspection at the Coimbatore Government Hospital around 12.30 am on Friday and reviewed the functioning of various departments and staff attendance.
During the inspection, the Minister enquired about the details of employees on duty and verified whether all staff members had reported for work on time.
He also reviewed maintenance activities at the hospital and inspected the quality of food items supplied in the canteen.
Earlier, during an inspection at the hospital, patients and members of the public had complained that the premises were cleaned and staff worked actively only when officials were informed in advance about visits by the Minister.
Following the complaints, V. Sampathkumar had announced that surprise inspections would be conducted without prior information. As assured earlier, the sudden midnight inspection created shock and tension among doctors and hospital staff at the Government Hospital.
