Bank of Baroda has presented a death insurance compensation of Rs.15 lakh to the family of Coimbatore Forest Department employee Gnanasekaran, who passed away while in service, despite having operated his salary account with the bank for just one month.
Under the TamilNadu Government Employees Salary Account Insurance Scheme, Bank of Baroda provides insurance compensation to the families of government employees holding salary accounts with the bank in the event of their death during service. Gnanasekaran, a Forest Department employee from Coimbatore, had recently opened a salary account with the bank before his untimely demise.
The compensation cheque for Rs.15 lakh was handed over to the legal heir of the deceased by the Coimbatore District Forest Officer in the presence of Bank of Baroda Coimbatore Regional Manager and Deputy General Manager Kamalakannan, Regional Office Chief Manager Kumaraguru.
Although Gnanasekaran had received salary in his Bank of Baroda account for only one month, the bank processed the insurance claim without delay and extended the full benefit available under the salary package insurance scheme to his family.
The bank completed all claim formalities within the stipulated time through the prompt efforts of its Coimbatore Zonal Office. Forest Department officials appreciated Bank of Baroda for its swift processing of the claim and timely financial assistance to the bereaved family.
