Kathir College of Arts and Science inaugurated its 12th batch of students at a grand function held on the college campus at Neelambur on Sunday. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister K. A. Sengottaiyan attended the event as the chief guest, while Backward Classes Welfare Minister V. Sampath Kumar and Prohibition and Excise Minister K. Vignesh were the guests of honour.
Among those present were MLAs N. M. Sugumar (Sulur), K. S. Sri Giri Prasad (Singanallur), Kanimozhi Santhosh (Kavundampalayam) and N. Sunil Anand (Mettupalayam). Founder-Chairman E. S. Kathir, Secretary Lavanya Kathir and Vice-Chairman K. S. Mithilesh also participated in the programme.
Principal Dr. R. Karpagam welcomed the gathering and highlighted the institution’s commitment to academic excellence. In her presidential address, Secretary Lavanya Kathir emphasised the importance of continuous learning and encouraged students to make the best use of educational opportunities.
Addressing the gathering, Minister K. A. Sengottaiyan stressed the importance of quality education in shaping young minds and urged students to pursue excellence with dedication and integrity. Ministers V. Sampath Kumar and K. Vignesh appreciated the institution’s efforts in providing quality higher education and encouraged students to develop leadership qualities.
As part of the programme, 30 meritorious students were honoured with management-sponsored scholarships. The vote of thanks was delivered by Vice-Chairman K. S. Mithilesh.
