Tasmac Employees To Get Paid Weekly Holiday: Minister Vignesh

Prohibition and Excise Minister Vignesh announced six major measures for Tasmac employees in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, including revised wages and improved working conditions.
Considering the welfare of employees who have been working continuously in Tasmac retail outlets for 23 years, the government has decided to revise their wages, the Minister said.
Under the revised structure, supervisors will receive Rs.33,023, salesmen Rs.30,284 and assistant salesmen Rs.28,689 per month.
The measures are aimed at improving employees’ livelihoods and preventing irregularities, including violations of the maximum retail price at Tasmac outlets, the Minister said.
Tasmac employees will also receive a festival advance of Rs.20,000. An annual amount of Rs.6,000 will be provided towards cloth and stitching expenses for three uniforms.
Employees will be assigned eight-hour shifts on a rotational basis. They will also be provided one day off every month and two days of paid casual leave each month.
Minister Vignesh warned that employees found selling liquor above the prescribed price would face suspension for the first offence and permanent dismissal if they repeated the violation.
