Four-year-old Elena Sharma from Odisha has created a record by featuring in the September rating list released by the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
Elena, aged four years, six months and 16 days, recently participated in a FIDE-rated tournament and secured a rating of 1,432 points. With this, she has become the youngest female player to feature in the FIDE rating list.
However, the overall record for the youngest player to enter the FIDE rating list is held by Sarvagya Singh Kushwaha of Maharashtra. He achieved the feat at the age of three years, seven months and 20 days in December 2025.
Elena’s achievement at the age of four has attracted widespread attention in the chess community.
