Ministers paid floral tributes to freedom fighter and ‘Kappalottiya Thamizhan’ V. O. Chidambaranar at the Gandhi Mandapam in Chennai on Saturday on the occasion of his birth anniversary.As per the Chief Minister’s instructions, Rural Development and Water Resources Minister N. Anand paid floral tributes to the portrait of V. O. Chidambaranar at Gandhi Mandapam. He also paid homage to the traditional oil press associated with Chidambaranar, who had endured British repression and worked for the country’s freedom.
Medical and Family Welfare Minister Dr. K. G. Arunraj, Food and Civil Supplies Minister P. Venkataramanan, School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity Minister Rajmohan, and Tourism Minister S. Rajesh Kumar were present.Saidapet MLA M. Arul Prakasam, Tamil Development and Information Department Secretary V. Rajaraman, IAS, and Director of Information and Public Relations Dr. A. Arun Thamburaj, IAS, were also present.The ministers also witnessed folk-art performances presented by students and appreciated them for their
participation.
