TVK Cadres Who Made Derogatory Remarks Against Women Expelled: Minister N. Anand

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) general secretary and Minister for Rural Development and Water Resources N. Anand said in the Assembly that party cadres who made derogatory remarks against women had been expelled from the party.
The issue was raised by DMDK general secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth, who said Chief Minister Vijay had stated that no one should make inappropriate remarks about women and that strict action would be taken against those who did so.
Premalatha said she welcomed the Chief Minister’s stand but pointed out that some TVK cadres had also allegedly made objectionable posts about women on social media. She urged the Chief Minister to take note of the issue and condemn such remarks by TVK cadres.
Responding to her, C. T. R. Nirmal Kumar said the Chief Minister’s warning applied to TVK cadres as well and that action had been ordered against anyone making inappropriate remarks about women.
He also alleged that some DMK members were creating fake social media accounts in the names of TVK cadres and making objectionable posts.
N. Anand said action had already been taken against TVK cadres who had made such remarks and that they had been expelled from the party.
