BMW India has launched the first-ever BMW i5 Long Wheelbase in India, its first locally produced electric sedan. The model will be manufactured at BMW Group Plant Chennai, with deliveries beginning immediately. The car is available at BMW dealerships across India.
Priced at Rs.79.60 lakh ex-showroom, the BMW i5 eDrive35L M Sport and limited First Edition are offered at the same price. All 99 First Edition units were sold out before the official launch.
Powered by an 81.6 kWh battery, the electric sedan offers a range of up to 669 km under the MIDC test cycle. It produces 268 hp and 410 Nm of torque and accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed of 195 kmph. The vehicle supports up to 160 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 10-80 per cent charge in 33 minutes, and comes with a complimentary BMW Wallbox charger.
Measuring 5,175 mm in length with a 3,105 mm wheelbase, the i5 LWB features a spacious cabin, adaptive rear-axle air suspension, 20-inch M alloy wheels, illuminated kidney grille and Sky Lounge Panoramic Glass Sunroof.
The cabin gets vegan Veganza upholstery, BMW Curved Display with 12.3-inch and 14.9-inch screens, BMW Interaction Bar, CraftedClarity crystal elements, four-zone air conditioning and Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound. The First Edition additionally offers rear-seat entertainment, exclusive trim elements and distinctive exterior accents.
BMW Operating System 8.5, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, Digital Key Plus, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, MyBMW App and remote functions are also offered.
Safety and assistance features include eight airbags, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Parking Assistant Professional, Reverse Assistant, Lane Change Warning, Cross Traffic Warning and Front and Rear Collision Warning.
BMW offers a two-year unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, eight-year or 1.6 lakh-km battery warranty and complimentary two-year roadside assistance.
