Thief finds no cash or jewellery, writes ‘Sorry’ on wall

A burglar who allegedly broke into a locked house in Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore, and found no cash or jewellery reportedly damaged household articles before writing ‘Sorry’ on a wall and fleeing.
Krishnamoorthy, 45, an employee of an IT company and a resident of Ramanathapuram, had locked his house and left with his family for a relative’s house in Palakkad, Kerala.
When the family returned after a few days, they were shocked to find household articles scattered across the house.
Several items had also been damaged.
The bedroom was found ransacked, with the bureau opened and its contents thrown on the floor. The mattress, sofa, washing machine and refrigerator were also damaged.
Police suspect that the unidentified person, after watching the house and finding it unoccupied, broke open the side door and entered with the intention of stealing valuables.
Finding no cash or jewellery, the person allegedly damaged the household articles and wrote ‘Sorry’ in English on the wall before escaping.
Krishnamoorthy lodged a complaint with the Ramanathapuram police. Police visited the house, collected evidence and are conducting an investigation to identify the suspect.
