DMK president M. K. Stalin has criticised Chief Minister Vijay over a series of murders and other violent incidents reported across Tamil Nadu, alleging that the law and order situation has deteriorated.
In a post on X, Stalin referred to the reported murder of 19-year-old Sathyaseelan in Mylapore and incidents in Tiruttani, Salem, Dindigul, Madurai, Sholavandan and Ennore.
He alleged that the incidents indicated that criminals were operating without fear while the public was living in fear. Stalin questioned whether adequate police patrolling was being carried out and whether habitual offenders were being properly monitored.
He also questioned the alleged delay in police action in cases where complaints had been lodged before subsequent violent incidents.
Stalin urged Vijay, who holds the Home portfolio, to take immediate steps to strengthen law and order and ensure the safety of people across the State.
He said the Chief Minister should recognise the seriousness of the situation and take concrete measures to prevent further crimes.
