A car overturned after falling into a sudden cave-in on the road near Tidel Park in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai, on Wednesday morning.
Metro rail construction work is currently under way in the area. A pit, reportedly around 10 feet deep, suddenly opened up on the road, causing the car to fall into it and overturn.
The occupants of the car escaped with minor
injuries.
The incident caused heavy traffic congestion on the Thiruvanmiyur road. Metro personnel have begun work to repair and close the damaged portion of the road.
