CPI MP Subbarayan’s son Bharathi Subbarayan joins DMK

Bharathi Subbarayan, son of Communist Party of India (CPI) Tiruppur MP K. Subbarayan, joined the DMK on Thursday in the presence of party president M.K. Stalin at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai.
Bharathi Subbarayan, president of the Tiruppur-based Navina Manithargal organisation, joined the DMK along with office-bearers of the organisation. Stalin welcomed him by draping a shawl around him.
DMK Treasurer T.R. Baalu, Deputy General Secretary A. Raja and Tiruppur North district secretary Dinesh were among those present.
Speaking to reporters after joining the DMK, Bharathi Subbarayan said his decision was based on the party’s stand on State rights and its policies. He alleged that political standards had declined and criticised the present administration, without naming the Chief Minister in his remarks.
He said the Navina Manithargal organisation had decided to join the DMK as its members agreed with the party’s policies on State rights and against social, caste and linguistic domination.
Bharathi Subbarayan said they would work to take these policies to the people through the DMK.
