Two women killed in fire at firecracker storage unit

Two women were killed in a fire at a firecracker storage unit in the Anaicut area of Vellore district on Wednesday morning.
The facility, owned by Hari Prasad, is located on Appukal Road in Anaicut. A sudden fire broke out at the unit, leaving Gayathri, 41, and Sangeetha, both from Kottavur, seriously injured. Both women later died.
Firefighters from the Anaicut Fire and Rescue Services rushed to the spot after receiving information and brought the blaze under control.
Anaicut police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
