Kovai Courtallam eco-tourism centre has been temporarily closed from Saturday, October 24, following a sudden rise in water levels at the waterfalls due to heavy rainfall in the Western Ghats region of Coimbatore district.
Forest Department officials announced the closure as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of visitors amid the increased water flow and flooding at the falls.
The authorities have urged the public and tourists to avoid visiting Kovai Courtallam until further notice. The eco-tourism centre will remain closed until a reopening announcement is issued by the Forest Department.
