Stone Pelting on Thiruvananthapuram Express Injures Assistant Loco Pilot

An assistant loco pilot was injured after unidentified persons allegedly pelted stones at the Thiruvananthapuram Express between Vyasarpadi and Perambur on Tuesday night.
The express train departed Chennai Central at 7.30 p.m. for Thiruvananthapuram, with loco pilot Saravanan and assistant loco pilot Mithun operating the train.
When the train was passing between Vyasarpadi and Perambur, unidentified persons hiding near the tracks allegedly hurled stones at the locomotive, shattering its front windscreen. Mithun sustained injuries to the side of his head and ear.
The train was halted near Perambur, and railway officials and Perambur Railway Police rushed to the spot. The injured assistant loco pilot was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A replacement assistant loco pilot was arranged, and the train resumed its journey at 8.35 p.m., after being delayed for more than an hour.
Perambur Railway Police have registered a case and launched a search to identify those responsible for the attack.
