Students of Kongu Engineering College (KEC), Perundurai, secured the First Prize in CHEMOVATE 2025, a National Level Hackathon organized by the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore.
The winning team, Sugandhi M, Manikandaprabu G, Sudharsan M, Manjusri R, and Sharnitha R participated under the guidance of Dr.D.Nesakumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering. Their innovative project, titled “Eco-Friendly Filter Paper from Banana Leaf Waste,” impressed the judges with its sustainable approach and practical applicability. The team was awarded the First Prize along with a cash award of 25,000.E.R.K.Krishnan, Correspondent, Dr.R.Parameshwaran, Principal, and Dr.V.Sangeetha, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, felicitated the winners.
