Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) founder Vijay has written to the Election Commission of India (ECI), requesting that his party be included in all-party meetings conducted by the Commission.
In his letter, Vijay pointed out that despite TVK being a registered political party, it had not been invited to recent all-party consultations. He noted that the Election Commission is a crucial pillar of India’s democratic framework, and excluding registered parties undermines the participatory nature of the electoral process.
Vijay further emphasised that the inclusion of TVK is essential to ensure that “the voice of every citizen is recorded accurately through democratic procedures.”
The letter urges the Election Commission to extend invitations to TVK for all future all-party meetings, treating it on par with other registered parties.
