A 12th standard school girl was brutally stabbed to death on her way to class after she rejected a man’s persistent attempts to force her into a relationship.
The shocking incident has left the community stunned.
According to police, Muniraj, a resident of the area, had been continuously harassing the student and pressuring her to accept his love proposal.
Despite her repeated refusals, he kept following and troubling her.
This morning, as the girl was heading to her government school, Muniraj allegedly confronted her once again. Enraged by her refusal, he attacked her with a knife, killing her on the spot.
Rameswaram Police rushed to the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem. Muniraj has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
