A video showing two young men staging a fake fight on a busy road in Sivakasi — leading to a motorist skidding and falling — has gone viral, drawing widespread condemnation from the public.
Social media users demanded immediate action, criticising the youths for endangering commuters’ lives for the sake of a reels video.
The duo, identified as Kalirajan (21) of Arunachalpuram and Dinesh Kumar (21) of Vadapatti, were reportedly filming the stunt to gain online attention.
Their act not only disrupted traffic but also caused an accident involving a two-wheeler rider, according to police sources.
Based on public outrage and video evidence, the Sivakasi police traced and arrested both youths for their reckless behaviour and for creating a public nuisance. Authorities warned that strict action will continue against those who stage dangerous stunts on public roads for social media content.
