Actor Vijay contests alone!

No major party has left the DMK alliance since 2017. This time, Makkal Needhi Maiam has joined hands with parties like Congress, VCK, CPM, CPI, MDMK. Therefore, the DMK alliance is ready to enter the fray with great strength.
Realizing the vote split that occurred due to AIADMK and BJP contesting separately in the 2024 elections, they have formed an alliance with the understanding that they will be strong only if they come together again. There is a situation where PMK and DMDK parties are also leaning towards this alliance. Amit Shah is also making serious efforts to bring OPS and TTV Dinakaran into the alliance.
Vijay had called on the coalition parties to share power and share power in his first political conference. No major political party has officially responded to Vijay’s call so far.
This has resulted in the formation of three poles in the 2026 elections: the DMK alliance, the AIADMK & BJP alliance, and the Naam Tamilar Katchi (independently), with Vijay standing alone as the fourth pole. Although Vijay has a fan base, it is not possible to say for sure to what extent it will help him. The fact that no party has joined the alliance is seen as a major challenge in his political journey.
The question of whether Vijay has been left alone is being hotly debated in political circles. Political isolation aside, Vijay’s campaign tour amidst strict restrictions on the field has created great expectations in Tamil Nadu politics!
