Good luck waiting for women in TN

Tamil Nadu is set to hold assembly elections in April or early May next year. Each political party is going to make attractive promises in this election. For that, committees are currently being formed to prepare election promises.
As for the parties, they carefully consider what promises will bring votes and what announcements will make people want to vote. Now, everything is studied by a panel of experts, constituency-wise, and the issues are listed and promises are made accordingly. In the past, many free promises have been made by the DMK and AIADMK parties.
TVK leader Vijay, who recently launched a party, has made unrealistic promises, including a house and a motorcycle for the family. AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami has made various promises, including houses for the hill tribe and fishermen.
As for the DMK, during the last assembly elections, it promised to provide a monthly entitlement of Rs 1,000 to all women in the family. Accordingly, it provided the women’s entitlement to one crore 13 lakh 75 thousand 492 women. Many women who were left out of this list were disappointed that they did not get it. To overcome this, the Tamil Nadu government relaxed the rules so that the left out women could also get this entitlement. Accordingly, in the second phase, this entitlement is being provided to another 16 lakh 94 thousand 339 people since Dec 12th. In total, one crore 30 lakh 69 thousand 831 people are receiving a monthly entitlement of Rs 1,000.
In this context, while speaking at the “Vellum Tamil pengal” function, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said that the provision of Rs. 1,000 as a right is just the beginning. He said that this amount will definitely increase. In the last election, the AIADMK had announced a right of Rs. 1,500 as a right for women. Therefore, this time too, there is a possibility that this right will be given in the election manifestos of all the parties to an amount exceeding Rs. 1,000.
Therefore, women’s rights will definitely be provided in the range of 1500 to 2000. At the same time, the government has the opportunity to use various methods to compensate for this, including increasing property tax, increasing the price of alcoholic beverages, and increasing the registration fee.
Whatever the case, a miracle awaits the women of Tamil Nadu!
