Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin today inaugurated a hockey stadium built to international standards, covering an area of 6,500 square feet, at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.67 crore in the R.S. Puram area of Coimbatore.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had laid the foundation stone for the stadium.
Udayanidhi inaugurated the stadium and interacted with the players present there. As part of this event, he also provided welfare assistance worth Rs. 136 crore to 10,626 beneficiaries. The foundation stone of new projects has been laid. He inaugurated government buildings completed at a cost of Rs. 162 crore for public use.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said that efforts are underway to host international competitions at this hockey stadium, which has been built to international standards.

Earlier this morning, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin participated in the Tamil Nadu Forest Force modernization and weapons distribution ceremony held at the Tamil Nadu Forest College in North Coimbatore.

For the first time in Tamil Nadu, he inaugurated the Wildlife Relocation and Treatment Center, the Elephant Camp, and the Tamil Nadu Forest Department Archives and Storage Facility, built at a cost of Rs. 19 crore in Petthikuttai, near Sirumugai, Coimbatore district, via video conferencing.
Presence of MP Ganapathy Rajkumar, Pollachi MP K. Eswarasamy, Former Minister V. Senthil Balaji, Additional Chief Secretary (Forests) Supriya Sahu, IAS, and forest department officials.
