The Camford International School, Coimbatore, organised the Camford Wingathon, a Mini Marathon, on Sunday in observance of National Bird Day, with the aim of promoting bird conservation, environmental awareness, physical fitness and community participation.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Chairman Arul Ramesh, Correspondent Poongothai Arul Ramesh and Principal Dr. Poonam Sayal, whose leadership continues to focus on holistic and value-based education.

The mini marathon was flagged off by Dr. P. Pramod, Senior Principal Scientist (Nature Education) at the Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History. Addressing the gathering, he stressed the need to protect avian biodiversity and to instil environmental responsibility among students.

Students, parents and staff members took part enthusiastically in the 1.5 km, 3 km and 5 km runs, which began and concluded at the school campus, creating a lively atmosphere of fitness and collective participation.
The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Manickaraj, Assistant Commissioner of the Income Tax Department, Coimbatore, who presented trophies and medals to the winners and appreciated the participants for supporting a meaningful environmental cause.
All participants were awarded medals and certificates, reflecting the school’s commitment to integrating academics, physical fitness and environmental consciousness.
