A farmers’ awareness conference was held on Monday evening in Villarasanpatti, Erode, organized by the BJP’s farmers’ wing. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated in the event. He was staying at a hotel in Villarasanpatti.
From there, he was brought to the conference venue in a bullock cart, dressed in a silk dhoti and shirt. He participated in the Pongal festival and cow worship ceremony held there. Later, he enjoyed performing the Valli Kummi dance on the stage. BJP state farmers’ wing president Nagaraj also danced with him. Earlier, BJP state vice-president Khushbu, who had come for the women’s conference, also danced with the artists performing the Valli Kummi dance.
Earlier, he participated in two separate meetings of farmers’ association representatives in Villarasanpatti. He had lunch with the women farmers. Later, he attended the women’s conference in the evening.
BJP state farmers’ wing president Nagaraj, Modakurichi MLA Saraswathi, district president Senthil, former AIADMK ministers Karuppannan and Ramalingam, and others participated in the awareness conference.
