A sapling plantation programme was organised at the Chengalpattu District Collectorate premises on Tuesday by Kothari Industrial Corporation Limited, Exnora, Tamil Nadu Green Machine and the Chengalpattu District Forest
Department.
The event was coordinated by Exnora Chengalpattu District Coordinator V K Prabhu. District Forest Officer Ravi Meena participated as the special invitee and inaugurated the plantation drive along with Exnora office-bearers. Assistant Conservator of Forests Lakshmanan, District Green Comrade Lokesh Murali, District Environment Coordinator Gunalan and Exnora coordinators were present on the occasion. Forest department officials, social activists and volunteers also took part in large numbers.
The programme aimed at promoting environmental protection and increasing green cover in and around the district.
