In a horrifying incident driven by financial distress, a man allegedly bludgeoned four members of his own family to death with bricks in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh.
The accused, Kamal Singh, lived in a two-storey house with his elderly parents, Ganga Singh, 70, and Shyama Devi, 65, along with his wife Ratna Devi and daughter Jyoti. Police said Kamal Singh had been under severe stress as he was unable to arrange money for his daughter’s wedding scheduled for next month.
Investigators said frustration over the financial crisis led him to take the extreme step. In a fit of rage, Kamal Singh allegedly attacked his parents, wife and daughter with bricks inside the house.
His parents and daughter died on the spot in a pool of blood. Ratna Devi, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed during treatment due to the severity of her injuries.
After the brutal attack, Kamal Singh reportedly confessed to the crime and surrendered before the police. Senior officials said a detailed investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events and the exact motive behind the mass murder.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the locality, with residents struggling to comprehend the brutality of the crime rooted in financial desperation.
