Postal department announces 28,740 vacancies for 10th pass candidates

The Postal Department has released the recruitment notification for the year 2026, offering a major employment opportunity for candidates who have passed Class 10. The recruitment is for village postal services, covering posts such as Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster, and Postal Employee.
A total of 28,740 vacancies have been announced across the country. Of these, Tamil Nadu accounts for 2,009 posts, Karnataka 1,023, Andhra Pradesh 1,060, Kerala 1,691 and Telangana 609 posts. The remaining vacancies are spread across other States and Union Territories.
The online registration process for these posts will commence on January 31 and continue until February 14. Candidates will be allowed to pay the application fee up to February 16.
As per the notification, the minimum educational qualification required is a pass in Class 10. Selection will be based purely on the marks obtained in the Class 10 examination, without any written test. Applicants should be between 18 and 40 years of age, with age relaxation applicable as per government norms.
Regarding pay, the monthly salary for the Branch Postmaster post ranges from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 24,470, while the Assistant Branch Postmaster post carries a salary between Rs. 12,000 and Rs. 29,380.
This recruitment drive is expected to attract a large number of applicants nationwide.
