An Urban Primary Health Centre constructed at a cost of Rs 120 lakh under the 15th Finance Commission Scheme 2022–23 was inaugurated at Kottakuppam near Puducherry on Wednesday.
The facility was established by the Kottakuppam Municipality under the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, Villupuram district, with the blessings of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, as per the orders of Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and the directions of Health and Family Welfare Minister Subramanian.
Kottakuppam Municipal Chairman S.S. Jayamoorthi and Municipal Commissioner Balamurugan inaugurated the health centre by lighting the ceremonial lamp and cutting the ribbon, following which they inspected the newly constructed building and its facilities.
Minority Wing Organiser and Kottakuppam Assembly election in-charge T.N.A. Thamin, officials of the Health and Family Welfare Department, and municipal councillors including Stalin Sukumar, Shanmugam, Aadhalakshmi Baskaran, Veerappan, Farook, Saravanan, Jayasri Sukumar, Nasser Ali and Zakir Hussain were present. Doctors, nurses, municipal staff, DMK functionaries, branch secretaries and members of the public also participated in large numbers.
The arrangements for the inauguration were efficiently carried out under the leadership of Municipal Commissioner Balamurugan, with the event drawing appreciation from local residents.
