Supporting actress thrashes man for obscene Instagram messages

A public altercation involving a supporting actress and a man who allegedly sent her obscene messages on Instagram triggered a stir in Chennai on Thursday, after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
The actress, Sri Ashwini, reportedly received vulgar and inappropriate messages from a man identified as Manikandan, who works at a restaurant in the city. Angered by the repeated harassment, she confronted him in public.
According to sources, Sri Ashwini assaulted Manikandan by beating and kicking him in the middle of the road before handing him over to the police. Bystanders recorded the incident on their mobile phones, and the footage later surfaced online, drawing widespread attention. Police have taken Manikandan into custody and are conducting further inquiry into the complaint of online harassment. The incident has once again brought focus on the issue of abuse faced by women on social media platforms.
