PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (KCW), Coimbatore, on Sunday launched the Centre of Excellence for Future Skills, titled “Diamond Beneath Your Feet”, aimed at empowering women students with global exposure, industry-relevant competencies and international career opportunities.
The launch marked a significant milestone in the college’s efforts to build a future-ready academic ecosystem by integrating advanced skill training, research opportunities and global collaborations into higher education. The event brought together eminent leaders from academia, industry and international organisations.
Welcoming the gathering, Dr N. Yesodha Devi, Secretary of KCW, said the institution has consistently focused on empowering women through quality education and noted that the Centre of Excellence would serve as a transformative platform linking academic learning with global opportunities.
The vision, mission and objectives of the Centre were presented by Dr Sreedhar Saraswathy, Chairman, International Institute of Medical Science and Technology Council, Dr Sanju Abraham, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Academy for Skill Development Corporation, and CA Narayanan Nambiar, Founder and Chairman, Global Finance Training Institute. They highlighted the growing need to integrate professional certifications, advanced skill training and international partnerships into mainstream education.
The Centre of Excellence for Future Skills was formally inaugurated through a virtual launch, symbolising KCW’s entry into a globally connected network of institutions focused on innovation and employability.

Delivering the chief guest address, Dr Sangeeth Varghese, President, IFSPD Europe, and an internationally acclaimed leadership mentor, praised the initiative and said institutions must move beyond conventional education to nurture leadership, adaptability and global competence among students.
A major highlight was the exchange of memoranda of understanding with partner organisations to facilitate international internships, joint research and exchange programmes. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr P.B. Harathi, Principal of KCW.
